Job Description

As a Senior Laravel PHP Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications and APIs that power our SaaS platform. You will collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver high-quality features on time. Your primary focus will be on developing robust Laravel-based web applications and RESTful APIs, writing clean, testable, maintainable code, and optimizing database queries and application performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust Laravel-based web applications and RESTful APIs
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code following SOLID principles and design patterns
• Build and integrate third-party APIs (payment gateways, SMS, email services, etc.)
• Optimize database queries and application performance using MySQL and Redis
• Collaborate with frontend developers (Vue.js / Livewire) to deliver seamless user experiences
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best practices
• Participate in agile sprints, planning sessions, and technical design discussions
• Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployments via Laravel Forge / Envoyer

Required Skills & Experience

• Laravel 10 / 11 & PHP 8.x (service providers, queues, events, policies, artisan commands, Eloquent ORM, middleware, broadcasting)
• MySQL / PostgreSQL (query optimization, indexing strategies, migrations, complex joins, stored procedures)
• API Development (REST / GraphQL) (Sanctum / Passport authentication, API versioning, rate limiting, request validation)
• Testing (PHPUnit / Pest) (unit, feature, and integration tests, test-driven development)
• Git & Version Control Workflows (GitFlow or trunk-based development, pull request reviews, branching strategies)
• Redis / Queues / Scheduling (caching strategies, job queues, task scheduling, cache invalidation)

Frontend Knowledge

• Vue.js / Livewire / Inertia.js (SPA development, reactive UI without JavaScript)
• Filament PHP (admin panel development)

Additional Technical Skills

• Docker & Docker Compose
• Git & CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Laravel Forge, Envoyer)
• PHPUnit / Pest (testing)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices or event-driven architecture
• AWS / DigitalOcean cloud infrastructure experience
• Stripe / PayFast / JazzCash payment gateway integration
• OpenAI or other LLM API integration experience
