Salary Range

TZS 2,500,000 - 4,000,000 per month

Job Goals

• Deliver production-ready modules for at least two clients within the first 90 days.
• Achieve <1 second average API response time and 99.9% uptime across hosted services.
• Reduce application latency by 30% through query optimization and caching strategies.
• Ensure 90% test coverage and fully documented endpoints before the next major release.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust web applications using Laravel 10+ and supporting libraries.
• Integrate multiple third-party services:
• - Payment gateways (e.g., M-Pesa, Visa, Mastercard)
• - SMS, email, and OTP providers
• - Core-banking and KYC/AML APIs
• Write performant SQL, optimize MySQL queries, and leverage Redis for caching and queues.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews, enforce PSR & Laravel coding standards, and mentor junior developers.
• Implement unit, feature, and smoke tests
• manage CI/CD pipeline and version control (Git).
• Collaborate with UI/UX and QA teams to translate wireframes into reusable Blade components.
• Participate in sprint planning, provide effort estimates, and demo completed features to stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging Laravel packages and PHP/Javascript trends
• introduce incremental upgrades to TechNova’s tech stack.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience developing modern PHP applications under the Laravel framework. Solid background in the full SDLC, including requirements gathering, prototyping, development, and production release, preferably for fintech or highly regulated environments.
• Hard Skills: Laravel 10+, PHP 8, MySQL, Redis, Git, REST/GraphQL, PHPUnit, PHP-CS-Fixer
• Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, mentoring aptitude, proactive communication, reliability, attention to security
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or demonstrable equivalent work experience).
